Our Background, Vision and Mission Statements
Background
Angus Young Carers has been supporting young carers throughout Angus since 2001. We currently offer varying levels of support to around 200 young carers living in the Angus Area. Angus Young Carers is part of Angus Carers Centre, a local charity established in 1996 and which is part of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers network.
Vision Statement
Our vision is that all carers in Angus will receive appropriate information and support to enable them to feel valued and confident in their caring situation and to develop their own potential.
Mission Statement
Our mission at Angus Carers Centre is to improve the quality of life for all carers in Angus.
Aims
In the undertaking of this Mission Statement the following aims have been identified;
- Empowering carers to become partners in the provision of care
- Supporting carers to undertake their caring role
- Equipping carers to move on after caring ends
Objectives
In the undertaking of this Mission Statement the following objectives have been identified;
- To ensure that carers are recognised and supported as expert care partners
- To support carers to have a life outside of caring
- To improve carers mental health and well-being
- To support carers to address their financial needs
- Children are protected from harmful caring roles and thriving
