Easter Outing

Sunday 10th April 2011

31 Young Carers, 4 staff and 2 volunteers ventured to Dundee for the Annual Easter Outing.  This year we went to the City Harbour Chinese Buffet for lunch and then on to the Cinema.  This is the first time we have taken such a large group of Carers ranging from 8 years old to 17 years old out on one outing, which was a great success.

The Young Carers enjoyed the chance to try out many different Chinese dishes and being able to return to the buffet as often as they liked, as it was “eat all you can eat”.  Needless to say when it came to “pudding time” the queue was enormous!  The waiter had to replace the ice cream containers several times to keep up with the demand.

Unfortunately, due to the large number of people attending when we got to the Cinema we were extremely limited to what we could go and view so a lot of Carers were unable to see their chosen film.  Next time we will arrange tickets in advance of the day to avoid disappointment.
